Chakras: Energy Vortices

What are Chakras?

The Pranamaya Kosha or the Energy Body contains chakras as high powered Energy Vortices.

It is where Ida & Pingala Nadis intersect and manage distribution of energy across the entire network of Nadis.

In deep states of meditation, Yogis see Chakras as radiating light particles of different colors vibrating at a particular frequency.

Seven Chakras

The Seven Chakras exist along the spinal column and each of them associates with a Kosha, has a Color, a Beeja Mantra (Sound), element and frequency.

The Chakras also have corresponding nerve plexuses in the Physical Body which are points where the nerves meet and distribute themselves.

Qualities of Chakras

Chakras at the lower points, operate at lower frequency and have grosser states of Consciousness. Frequency of Chakras increases and awareness becomes subtler as we move towards the top.

Chakra at the highest point operating at very high frequency with highest level of Consciousness.

The Mooladhara Chakra which is at the lowest point, is the generating station of Prana, Manipuraa is the distribution center and Ajna Chakra is the Command Center.

Working of Chakras

Hatha Yoga and other forms of Yoga use chakras to experience higher dimensions of Consciousness. They act like switches to activate the Sahasrara or the Crown Chakra.

The arrangement of Chakras from top to bottom does not imply that they are available only in series. In the transcendental realm, the logic is of little significance and any chakra if worked upon in different dimensions, can illuminate all the others.

By purifying and rebalancing the Chakras, the quantum of Prana in the body increases. This facilitates smooth transmission of Prana across the various Koshas. And, raise levels of Consciousness in the Human Being.

Chakras also have an important role to play in the Human Mechanism. They receive and store MahaPrana or Cosmic Prana for the body. And, they act as transformers in converting high energy into low energy Prana which the body & various organs can easily utilize.
