Number 5
The number FIVE in Yogic Sciences represents the five elements (Tattwa) namely Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jal), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu) and Ether (Aakash).
It from these five elements from which the whole creation including human beings has come into existence. Also, five elements for the basis of science of Yoga and Ayurveda.
For example, in GITA, which is an uplifting Yogic Scripture, the five Pandavas represent the five elements.
Yudhishthira as Aakash Tatwa, Bheema as Vayu Tatwa, Arjun as Agni Tatwa, Nakul as Jal Tatwa and Sehdev as Prithvi Tatwa. The text gives various techniques to PURIFY the five elements.
Every spiritual system has the basis of number FIVE because the root of Yogic Sciences is purification of FIVE Elements or Bhuta Shuddhi.
The basic Sadhana is to purify the five elements so that they work in harmony within the human system. Bhuta Shuddhi which is part of Sadhguru’s Hatha Yoga Program is a popular elemental purification practice for personal well being.
There is a another practice known as Panch Bhoota Kriya. It is a ritual conducted on every Purnima or Full Moon Day for elemental purification of a large group of people.
Rituals are a set of practices that are performed by a group of trained Yogis for the benefit of a group of people or an entire community.
Number 7
The number 7 is the number of Chakras or Energy Points in the Pranamaya Kosha or the Energy Body.
Number 11
The number 11 is the number of the Devi or the Material Dimension of existence.
Number 12 & beyond
The numbers 12 & beyond are numbers of Shi-va (that which is not) or the Non-Physical Dimension of existence.
